This was a unique design challenge. The home was designed for a bachelor, but he had wanted it designed so that if he had ever sold it, the spaces could easily be converted for a family's needs. For example, there was a large study off of the foyer, which could have been turned into a formal dining room. Mr. Janson had really enjoyed cooking and entertaining so the kitchen was a large area of focus. The whole house was designed in a country French manor, and this showed in the kitchen. The cabinets were designed to look like a handcrafted piece of furniture rather than regular kitchen cabinetry. The wood ceiling also added a warm touch. There was also a large guest bedroom with two large walk-in closets. There was a finished basement designed for entertaining. There was a large recreation room, a bar and another guest suite.
