This job consisted of adding a hearth room to the side of the existing home. The existing residence contained very formal spaces for entertaining, and there weren't any informal spaces for the family to relax. This was the purpose of this project. The addition also served other functions, such as adding a half bath, which provided both a bath for that side of the house and for the pool out back. It also had a small porch off of the side which was used for a BBQ area. Inside from the porch was a mud room with a large storage closet. Also added were more pantry and storage space for the kitchen, which was lacking before.
The materials used and the attention to detail keep with the elegance and formality of the existing home, while giving the family a place to relax.
